Romanian company lookup API by CUI

Look up a Romanian company by fiscal code (CUI) to verify a counterparty: legal name, registry status, VAT registration, address, CAEN code and yearly financials. A null value means "not checked", never "none"; the coverage field says which sources were actually fetched.

  • Yearly financials: turnover, net profit (negative for a loss) and employees

Source and limits

Data from FirmeAPI.ro.

  • ANAF debts, insolvency and court cases are not fetched in v1: they are null with coverage set to false
  • Personal data (administrators, associates, contact details) is never returned
  • CUI is 2 to 10 digits, with or without the RO prefix; anything else is 400 invalid_cui

Questions

How much does a lookup cost?

$0.01 per successful call. The first 10 calls a day per IP address are free.

Do I need an account?

No. Call it without credentials on the free tier, pay per call with x402 over HTTP, or send a prepaid rk_ key bought by card.

What does null mean in a response?

Not checked. The coverage field lists which sources were fetched for this call; null never means none.

Where does the data come from?

FirmeAPI.ro, a commercial provider of Romanian company data; we resell its lookups.

Am I charged for a failed call?

No. Credits are deducted and x402 payments settled only on a 2xx response; errors such as invalid_query or upstream_error cost nothing.
